There has been a recent talk at the R in Grenoble user group on reproducible research. Unfortunately I could not attend it but I got access to the slides that have been presented:

This gives a nice overview on how the R ecosystem is evolving to help make research more reproducible, which is pretty nice (as long as you only live in the modern R ecosystem). Btw, if anyone has ever used rrtools and has an opinion on how convenient and perennial it is, please share it.
